Unlocking Opportunities: How Oman’s Retail Sector Job Growth Can Benefit Your Business Investments

Muscat: The Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour, has announced the creation of 1,157 job opportunities in the wholesale and retail sectors throughout the Sultanate of Oman. This initiative includes 525 direct job positions as well as 332 openings at fuel stations.

In a further effort to bolster the retail sector, the Ministry has facilitated the creation of 300 direct jobs that come with training, made possible through an agreement with a specialized retail academy. This collaboration will be executed alongside the Employment and Training Support Center of the Ministry of Labour.

The announcements were made during a signing ceremony for various cooperation programs involving numerous wholesale and retail enterprises within Oman, which also marked the launch of the "Itqan" program aimed at the industrial sector.

This initiative reflects the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to enhance employment opportunities and empower Omani youth in both the retail and industrial fields. Additionally, the launch of the "Itqan" program coincided with the signing of cooperation agreements with several factories, industrial facilities, and higher education institutions designed to equip Omani youth with essential technical skills and knowledge.
