Major Solar Module Maker Launches in Oman: A Game Changer for Investors and Entrepreneurs
MUSCAT, MAY 11 — The Advanced American Clean Energy Company (AACE) has commenced operations at its state-of-the-art solar photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturing facility located in Salalah Free Zone. The company has now announced plans for a significant technological upgrade to keep pace with the fast-evolving global solar industry.
A senior executive explained that AACE blends American engineering excellence with cutting-edge European automation to produce high-efficiency solar modules. The facility currently boasts an annual production capacity of 300 MW, focusing on advanced PERC (Passivated Emitter and Rear Cell) technology. These solar panels deliver higher efficiency by improving light absorption and minimizing electron loss compared to conventional cells.
Khalel Khanshali, Chief Operating Officer of AACE, stated, “As part of our technology roadmap, we are preparing to transition to TOPCon technology by the end of 2026, which will further enhance module efficiency and performance. Concurrently, we are investing in next-generation innovations such as back-contact and busbarless designs to align with global industry advancements.”
TOPCon technology increases solar cell efficiency through a tunnel oxide and passivated rear contact that reduce energy loss and boost power output. Back-contact designs improve performance by relocating electrical connections to the rear of the cell, maximizing light absorption. Busbarless configurations optimize current collection by reducing resistance and shading. These innovations collectively drive a new generation of high-efficiency solar PV modules.
Khanshali highlighted that AACE’s operations rest on three core technological pillars to ensure Tier-1 quality standards: advanced Italian automation systems from Ecoprogetti Srl for precision manufacturing and reliability; high-efficiency half-cut PERC solar cell technology for superior energy yield and thermal performance; and rigorous American engineering and quality-control standards supported by internationally recognized certifications for safety, durability, and bankability.
“By combining American expertise, European manufacturing technology, and Oman’s strategic location, AACE delivers a globally competitive and dependable solar product,” Khanshali said.
AACE’s current product lineup includes two high-performance photovoltaic modules: a 120 Half-Cut Cell Module rated at 455W and a 144 Half-Cut Cell Module rated at 545W, tailored to meet the demands of utility-scale and commercial solar projects.
While primarily export-oriented and focused on international markets, AACE also recognizes substantial opportunities within Oman’s domestic renewable energy sector.
“As an Oman-based manufacturer, AACE is fully committed to supporting the Sultanate’s renewable energy transition. Our products are proudly made in Oman, and we stand ready to contribute to local solar projects aligned with national sustainability goals and energy diversification strategies,” Khanshali added.
“AACE marks a new chapter in Oman’s industrial and clean energy sectors. Our presence in Salalah Free Zone demonstrates a strong, long-term commitment to developing local manufacturing capabilities that meet global standards. As the world moves rapidly toward renewable energy, AACE is poised to play a key role—not only as a manufacturer but also as a strategic contributor to the region’s energy future,” he concluded.
