Oman Air and SalamAir Boost July Capacity with 192 Extra Flights: What This Means for Business Travel and Investment Opportunities in Oman
Oman Air and SalamAir have significantly expanded their operations to Salalah for Khareef Dhofar 2026, increasing daily seat capacity by nearly 400% during peak demand periods.
Oman Air has boosted its daily seat availability to Salalah from around 675 in April to over 3,000 on the busiest days. Similarly, SalamAir has increased its daily capacity from 495 to 1,505 seats during the same timeframe.
Together, the two airlines have added 192 additional flights and 35,639 extra seats on the Muscat-Salalah route in July alone.
Alongside enhanced domestic services, both carriers have introduced new international routes, making it easier than ever for Omanis and international visitors to experience Dhofar during its famed Khareef season.
Focusing on both accessibility and affordability, Oman Air has maintained its national fare for Omani citizens at the 2023 rate, offering return flights between Muscat and Salalah for just RO54. Meanwhile, SalamAir continues to provide its popular residents’ fare starting at RO9.99 one way. SalamAir recently celebrated the arrival of its latest aircraft, ‘Salalah,’ by offering every seat on its inaugural return flight at RO9.99.
Con Korfiatis, CEO of Oman Air, stated, “Khareef is one of Oman’s greatest tourism assets, and as the national carrier, we play a vital role in enhancing its accessibility. This expansion reflects our commitment to affordable travel for Omanis through unchanged national fares while extending our international network to attract more visitors to Dhofar. Each additional flight supports local businesses, strengthens the tourism economy, and showcases Oman to the world.”
Adrian Hamilton-Manns, CEO of SalamAir, commented, “We are proud to support Khareef’s growth — one of the region’s most anticipated tourism seasons — with our largest seasonal operation to date. By expanding our network, increasing frequencies, and enhancing capacity, we are making it easier than ever for travelers from Oman and the region to experience Dhofar’s unique beauty. Accessibility and affordability remain central to our strategy, which is why we continue to offer the residents’ fare alongside other promotions.”
