Chinese Firm to Install 200 EV Chargers in Oman: What This Means for Investors and Entrepreneurs
MUSCAT, SEPTEMBER 25 – Leading Chinese electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions provider, Gresgying Digital Technology, has announced plans to establish an extensive network of EV charging stations across Oman. This initiative supports the country’s national strategy to accelerate the adoption of green mobility.
Headquartered in Xi’an, Gresgying is recognized as a global manufacturer of EV charging equipment. The company will install approximately 200 charging stations as part of a commitment with the Oman-based National Green Mobility Company (NGMC), which recently launched the Sultanate’s first fully integrated electric mobility platform aimed at delivering sustainable transport solutions.
Purvis Yang, Area Sales Manager at Gresgying, remarked, “We are excited to have signed a national strategic cooperation agreement with Oman’s NGMC. The construction of 200 EV charging stations nationwide marks a significant step forward in enhancing the country’s e-mobility infrastructure. This project aligns closely with Oman Vision 2040 and the Net Zero 2050 strategy, supporting the Sultanate’s low-carbon transition.”
Last month, Gresgying joined five other local and international companies in signing agreements with NGMC to help realize its ambitious green mobility roadmap. The plan includes deploying 500 electric vehicles across Muscat and other governorates in 2026, followed by the launch of a National Research and Innovation Centre in 2027. By 2032, the initiative aims to operate over 10,000 EVs alongside 200 fast-charging stations nationwide.
Looking further ahead to 2035, the focus will shift towards industrial localization, positioning Oman as a regional hub for EV component manufacturing and assembly. The roadmap also includes local production of charging equipment and the introduction of light mobility solutions such as e-bikes, reinforcing the Sultanate’s emerging leadership in sustainable transport technologies.
Frank Feng, Vice President of Strategy at Gresgying Smart Mobility, stated that the company is exploring the launch of a smart mobility application in Oman as part of its collaboration with NGMC. This initiative will extend beyond traditional car-hailing services to include a range of innovative green digital solutions, reflecting Oman’s commitment to developing an integrated and sustainable electric vehicle ecosystem.
Feng added that the partnership aims to ensure flexibility and efficiency, encompassing not only the deployment of EV charging stations but also exploratory studies on establishing a local EV charging station manufacturing facility. Such an investment would lay the groundwork for a fully integrated and sustainable electric transport system in Oman, underscoring Gresgying’s long-term dedication to the Sultanate.
NGMC, a joint venture between HK Ventures of Oman and China Middle East Development Group, is targeting investments of approximately RO 29 million to implement this roadmap.
Gresgying Digital Technology Co., Ltd. has steadily expanded its international presence, solidifying its position as a major global player in the EV charging sector. The company operates a significant production hub in Nanchong, China, and has established operations in over 20 countries across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Australia. To date, more than 105,000 Gresgying charging terminals are in service worldwide.
