Oman’s First Smart Corporate Payment Card Launched: What It Means for Streamlining Business Transactions in Oman

MUSCAT, SEPT 9 — In a significant advancement for Oman’s fintech sector, Thawani has introduced the ‘Mujib for Business’ card, the Sultanate’s first fully integrated smart financial card tailored to enhance corporate operational efficiency and flexibility. This launch aligns with the national initiative to embed innovative digital solutions within the payments landscape.

Unveiled at the Comex Global Technology Exhibition 2025 under the patronage of Shaikh Nasser bin Suleiman al Harthy, Deputy President of Operations at Oman Investment Authority, the card represents a milestone in the evolution of digital financial services in Oman.

The Mujib for Business card allows institutions to instantly issue prepaid cards through a secure digital platform, enabling real-time expense monitoring and transparent management. It supports a broad range of corporate expenditures, including petty cash, purchases, fuel, government transactions, monthly subscriptions, staff travel allowances, and work-related missions.

Businesses can request the card via Thawani’s business platform, issue multiple cards in a single application, and have them delivered directly. The platform provides comprehensive administrative control by assigning each card to specific users, tracking payments through an app, and facilitating card replacement or top-ups directly from the corporate wallet.

A notable feature of the card is its independence from bank accounts, enhancing financial security. Sensitive information is not printed on the card and is accessible solely to the assigned user via the app, bolstering privacy and reliability.

Shaikh Nasser bin Suleiman al Harthy stated, “Innovation in the financial sector enhances the digital services ecosystem in the Sultanate of Oman, reinforces institutional adoption of smart solutions, and supports Oman Vision 2040’s digital transformation goals. We hope this initiative provides Omani enterprises with advanced tools to strengthen competitiveness in today’s modern economy.”

Eng Majid bin Fayil al Amri, CEO of Thawani, emphasized the launch’s significance: “We believe fintech is a true enabler for institutions. By delivering practical and secure solutions, we help businesses manage resources efficiently while supporting Oman’s transition toward a diversified and knowledge-based economy.”

This launch highlights Thawani’s dedication to advancing Oman’s financial infrastructure by offering businesses a cutting-edge tool to manage resources with greater efficiency and flexibility, further solidifying Oman’s position in the regional digital economy.
