OQRPI’s Decarbonisation Framework at GDA IDCE 2025: Key Opportunities for Industry Leadership and Investment in Bahrain
Muscat: OQ Refineries and Petroleum Industries (OQRPI), a subsidiary of OQ, Oman’s global energy investment group, will participate as a Diamond Sponsor at the Gulf Downstream Association’s International Downstream Conference & Exhibition (IDCE 2025).
The event is scheduled to take place in Bahrain from 30 September to 2 October, under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain. IDCE is recognized as one of the region’s most influential platforms for shaping the future of the downstream sector.
Themed “Beyond Borders: Creating Value, Innovating Tomorrow’s Downstream,” IDCE 2025 will gather over 1,500 delegates, 150 companies, and senior decision-makers from more than 50 countries. The conference serves as a global forum to advance strategies focused on digital transformation, decarbonisation, and long-term competitiveness.
Kamil Bukhait Al Shanfari, CEO of OQRPI, will take part in a strategic session on the opening day titled “Strategic Imperatives for Downstream Resilience in a Low-Margin Era.” This panel will explore how efficiency, cost optimisation, digitalisation, and sustainable business models can reinforce resilience and promote growth amid challenging market conditions.
OQRPI’s involvement will also include the presentation of eight technical papers demonstrating its expertise in flare reduction, renewable energy integration, process optimisation, and decarbonisation. Central to these initiatives is the company’s four-pillar decarbonisation framework, which combines operational discipline with innovative approaches. This framework guides OQRPI’s target to reduce emissions by 25% by 2030, aligning with Oman’s net-zero commitment for 2050.
