Cardholders are required to renew their resident cards within 30 days of expiration to maintain compliance with regulations.
Additionally, the decision increases the validity period of the national ID card for Omanis from five years to ten years, with issuance and renewal fees set at OMR 10. This fee also applies for replacements of lost or damaged cards.
The last amendment to the Executive Regulations occurred in 2021, which introduced a new category permitting the issuance of ID cards to citizens and residents aged 10 and above, with optional issuance for younger individuals according to specific guidelines.
