Muscat: The Muttrah Cable Car project has reached an implementation progress of 71 percent, with equipment installation recently underway. The cable car is expected to become operational in the first quarter of 2026.
This project represents a significant addition to the Sultanate of Oman’s tourism landscape, blending historical charm with modern innovation to enhance Muttrah’s status as a key tourist destination. The cable car will cover a three-kilometer route and include three main stations, each offering unique features that promise an exceptional journey combining natural scenery with urban splendor.
The first station, Muttrah Port Station, serves as the gateway for visitors entering the wilayat and arriving via cruise ships. It provides a variety of visitor services and high-quality rental spaces. The Mountain Top Station at Rayah Peak is the largest station, featuring panoramic views, an open-air concert stage, a giant swing, and a hydraulic winter slide. Additional amenities include recreational activities, international restaurants, and premium retail outlets. The third station, Hay Al Ward, offers sea views, spacious balconies, international dining options, a dancing fountain, and versatile rental spaces.
Constructed to meet the highest international standards of safety and efficiency, the Muttrah Cable Car is poised to be a major driver of tourism and economic growth in Muscat Governorate. It aims to boost the local business environment and create new investment opportunities, particularly for small and medium enterprises. The developer plans to soon offer rental spaces to investors, further supporting economic development.
