Muscat: Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin, Vice President of the Swiss Confederation and Head of the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research (EAER), visited Muttrah Souq and Al Mirani Fort this evening as part of his official working visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
During his tour of Muttrah Souq, Councillor Parmelin explored a rich array of traditional and contemporary goods, including handicrafts such as silverwork and Khanjars (traditional daggers), traditional weapons, fabrics, Omani halwa (a local sweet), and various spices. At Al Mirani Fort, Parmelin toured the facilities showcasing ancient heritage collections and artifacts.
