Recent ROP Arrests Highlight Urgent Need for Enhanced Business Practices to Combat Trafficking in Oman
Muscat: Authorities in Muscat have apprehended three individuals—one Omani citizen and two Egyptian nationals—on charges related to human trafficking.
This operation was executed by the Muscat Governorate Police Command in collaboration with the Special Taskforce Police Command.
In a separate but related action, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) detained 47 women from various nationalities for activities deemed contrary to public morals and decency. The detained women include 21 Egyptians, 10 Iranians, eight Pakistanis, four Thais, two Uzbeks, and two Moroccans.
The ROP confirmed that legal proceedings are underway for all individuals involved, and investigations are ongoing.
