Muscat: In a bid to enhance student mobility and promote sustainable transportation, Mwasalat has entered into a cooperation agreement with the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS). This partnership aims to develop a pioneering first- and last-mile service initiative that integrates micromobility options with public transportation across higher education institutions in Muscat Governorate and Salalah Wilayat.
The initiative focuses on connecting micromobility solutions, such as electric bicycles and small electric vehicles, to the broader public transport network. This integration is designed to reduce dependence on private cars and improve the daily commuting experience for students.
This effort follows the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology’s (MTCIT) collaboration with Knowledge Oasis Muscat last year to launch the ‘Smart Mobility Service Using Electric Scooters,’ further advancing sustainable transport options in the region.
