Restructured Abu Dhabi Chamber: Unlocking New Growth Opportunities for Businesses in Oman

Abu Dhabi Emphasizes Private Sector Empowerment with New Initiatives

Abu Dhabi: In accordance with the resolution issued on July 28, 2024, by His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) has embarked on a transformative phase aimed at enhancing strategic delivery and empowering the private sector.

Since the restructuring of its Board of Directors, the Chamber has demonstrated consistent and substantial progress. Membership has increased by 4.9%, surpassing 158,000 companies, indicating a growing confidence in Abu Dhabi’s business landscape and highlighting the Chamber’s pivotal role in fostering enterprise growth. Notable sectors that experienced significant growth include agriculture, forestry, and fishing (21%), arts and entertainment (13%), and information and communication technologies (10%). Additional reported growth occurred in water and waste management (9%), real estate and administrative services (8%), education (7%), transport and storage (6%), and mining and quarrying (5%). Construction, manufacturing, and financial services also displayed stable growth of approximately 3%.

The Chamber’s engagement with businesses deepened, as over 1,000 representatives from the private sector participated in 69 business events, including the flagship Abu Dhabi Business Week, as well as 10 legal and commercial workshops. In an effort to facilitate policy and regulatory reforms, 15 advocacy working groups collaborated with business leaders, while the Chamber addressed sectoral needs through 364 economic reports, providing vital data for informed planning and decision-making.

On the international front, the Chamber accelerated global engagement by hosting 70 diplomatic trade delegations and, for the first time, establishing an international office in Poland to expand Abu Dhabi’s global reach. An additional 11 outbound delegations enhanced market connectivity, and 25 global cooperation agreements were signed. The Chamber also recognized business excellence by awarding the Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award to 7 companies for their outstanding performance and innovation.

In its ongoing commitment to service, the Chamber responded to over 18,900 inquiries, achieving a 90.23% satisfaction rating on the TAMM platform.
