SALALAH, August 24 — A group of young Omani entrepreneurs has successfully transformed a section of the scenic Al Mughsail area into a thriving tourist attraction through their innovative project, ‘Lamer Al Mughsail’.
Launched during the 2022 Khareef Dhofar Season, the initiative has significantly boosted Al Mughsail’s appeal as a key destination during this period. Founder Nader bin Bakhit Fadhil explained that the project involved investing in tourist facilities that take advantage of the natural beauty of a creek flowing into Khor Fakheet at Al Mughsail. The site benefits from its stunning white sandy beaches, natural blowholes, and close proximity to the well-known Al Marneef Cave.
At the heart of Lamer Al Mughsail is a sustainable investment model aimed at enhancing the region’s attractiveness and establishing it as a diversified tourist hotspot. The facilities cater to various community groups and feature dining options such as restaurants and cafes, a children’s play area, bicycle paths, boat tours along the Khor Fakheet waterway, an artificial waterfall providing both aesthetic and recreational value, and comfortable beach seating for visitors.
Fadhil highlighted the project’s dual economic and social impact, emphasizing its role in generating seasonal income opportunities for youth and supporting the local economy. Additionally, the project is environmentally conscious, reorganizing the wadi’s flow to create a clean, well-maintained space that prioritizes sustainability.
