MUSCAT: Oman Post has officially launched the National Digital Mailbox service through a strategic partnership with Denmark’s e-Boks. This platform will serve as the official, secure channel for communication between government entities, private sector organisations, and individuals across Oman. The initiative supports the nation’s ongoing digital transformation efforts, aiming to enhance governance, strengthen data protection, and foster a more efficient and reliable digital economy in line with the goals of Oman Vision 2040.
The National Digital Mailbox allows individuals and businesses to receive and manage official communications digitally, including invoices, contracts, statements, and notifications, from a single, trusted source. Available 24/7, the platform provides full legal recognition of all digital correspondence, presenting a trustworthy alternative to traditional postal services.
Sayyid Nasr bin Badr al Busaidy, Chief Postmaster General at Oman Post, explained that the service is designed to deliver faster and more secure government services, support corporate communication needs, and offer individuals a verified digital mailbox for safely storing important documents.
In addition to improving efficiency, the platform promotes sustainability by reducing paper usage, lowering administrative costs, and speeding up transaction times. As part of the collaboration, Oman Post and e-Boks will exchange knowledge, share expertise, and develop local capabilities to ensure the platform’s resilience, compliance with international standards, and readiness for future digital economy demands.
Ulrik Falkner Thaysen, CEO of e-Boks, underscored the company’s two decades of global experience in secure digital mailbox solutions and noted that the platform can seamlessly integrate with public and private sector systems throughout Oman.
