Oman’s New Aviation Agreements: Key Opportunities for Investors and Entrepreneurs in the Air Transport Sector
The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Civil Aviation Authority, entered into three bilateral air transport agreements on Monday, September 22, 2025. These agreements were signed with the Syrian Arab Republic, the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, and the Cooperative Republic of Guyana.
In addition, a memorandum of understanding was signed with the Arab Republic of Egypt to enhance cooperation in civil aviation and expand operating rights for national airlines.
The agreements and the memorandum were signed by Eng. Naif bin Ali bin Hamad Al-Abri, President of the Civil Aviation Authority.
Specifically, the memorandum of understanding provides for expanded operating rights for Omani national carriers and increases the frequency of flights on routes between Oman and Egypt. This initiative is expected to boost air traffic, improve connectivity, and create more opportunities for both passenger and cargo transport, along with associated aviation services.
The signing of these agreements took place during the 42nd session of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Assembly held in Montreal, Canada.
