Chelsea Secures Official Deal with Gittens Until 2032 for $75 Million: Implications for Sports Investment in Oman
London, July 5 — Chelsea FC has officially announced the signing of young English winger Jamie Gittens from German club Borussia Dortmund. The contract runs until 2032, with a transfer fee of £55 million (approximately $75 million).
Gittens has signed a seven-year deal with Chelsea, but he will not be eligible to participate in the FIFA Club World Cup after having played for Dortmund in the tournament.
During his time at Dortmund, the 20-year-old winger played in 76 Bundesliga matches, scoring 12 goals and also competing in the Champions League.
Gittens is the third player to join Chelsea this summer, following the acquisitions of Liam Delap from Ipswich Town and João Pedro from Brighton.
