MoTCIT Launches Best Practices in Logistics Awards: Boosting Industry Standards and Business Growth in Oman
MUSCAT, OCT 9 – The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT), in collaboration with the Oman Logistics Centre and the Oman Logistics Association, has announced the launch of the third edition of the 2026 Award for Best Practices in the Logistics Sector. This initiative is designed to enhance efficiency and bolster the sector’s competitiveness on both regional and global scales, aligning with Oman Vision 2040’s goal to establish the Sultanate as a leading global logistics hub through infrastructure improvements and the adoption of advanced best practices.
The award recognises exceptional practices and innovative projects implemented across the logistics value chain over the past year. It aims to promote healthy competition as well as innovation and excellence within the sector. Eligible participants include entities involved in warehousing and storage, shipping lines and their agents, air, sea and road transport, customs brokerage, ports and free zones, ground handling, and freight forwarding.
The awards are divided into five key categories:
- Omanisation, which honours effective policies and procedures for recruiting and developing Omani talent.
- Health and Safety, recognising initiatives that have reinforced safety culture and reduced accidents and risks.
- Net Zero, highlighting projects that have successfully reduced emissions and waste while improving energy efficiency.
- Continuous Improvement and Innovation, celebrating practices and technologies that enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
- Omani Products and Services, acknowledging companies that support local supply chains and small and medium enterprises.
