Madayn Launches Tender for Madha Industrial City Infrastructure: What This Means for Investors and Businesses in Oman

MUSCAT: The Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn) has announced the launch of a tender for the infrastructure and industrial complexes project at Madha Industrial City, located in the Wilayat of Madha, Musandam Governorate. This initiative represents a significant advancement in expanding Madayn’s network of industrial cities, aimed at creating jobs, fostering entrepreneurship, and attracting investment through modern infrastructure and competitive incentives.

Engineer Saleh bin Salman al Abri, Director General of Facilities and Infrastructure at Madayn, explained that the project will fully develop Madha Industrial City, which spans 359,414 square meters. The development includes the construction of internal roads, and networks for water, electricity, sewage, and other essential services.

Additionally, six industrial spaces will be established under the Madayn Entrepreneurial Clusters initiative, in collaboration with the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development. This program is designed to empower local entrepreneurs by providing ready-built facilities and support services that promote innovation and business expansion.

Following the Royal directive issued by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik during his visit to Musandam Governorate in January 2024, to establish an industrial city in Saih Al Wasat, Madayn has completed the general detailed plan, final designs, and consulting studies including soil, traffic, and topographical assessments. These efforts have culminated in the preparation of tender documents for the project’s implementation.

Al Abri emphasized that Madha Industrial City is expected to stimulate economic growth, improve service delivery, meet infrastructure needs, and enhance private sector involvement. The project will also generate more employment opportunities for citizens, contribute to non-oil revenues, and support Oman Vision 2040.

He further highlighted that securing critical infrastructure—especially power, water, roads, and telecommunications—is essential for sustainable industrial and agricultural growth. Madha Industrial City is projected to become a catalyst for balanced regional development and a hub for innovation-driven investments. — ONA
