Duqm Economic Forum: Key Opportunities for Innovation and Investment to Boost Business Growth in Oman
MUSCAT: The Duqm Economic Forum 2025, themed “Duqm Leading Change,” is set to commence on October 27 at the Special Economic Zone at Duqm (SEZAD). This two-day event, held under the patronage of Sultan bin Salim al Habsi, Minister of Finance, will bring together international experts, investors, and policymakers to explore investment opportunities and the future of sustainable development.
Eng. Ahmed bin Hassan al Dheeb, Deputy Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones and Chairman of the Forum’s Supervisory Committee, emphasized that the forum serves as a strategic platform to attract significant multinational projects, particularly in tourism, urban development, and smart industries. The event will also focus on leveraging artificial intelligence to advance critical sectors, including sustainable manufacturing and green finance.
This year’s forum will gather over 400 participants, featuring 54 speakers and moderators—comprising 23 international experts and 19 Omani professionals representing more than 50 nationalities. Discussion topics will center around three key themes: “Integrated Tourism and Lifestyle Development,” “Green Manufacturing and Renewable Industries,” and “Smart Cities Powered by Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation.”
The first day will include four major sessions. The session titled “Unlimited Opportunities” will highlight Oman’s economic progress and competitiveness in line with Oman Vision 2040. “The Duqm Experience” will present SEZAD’s strengths in luxury and adventure tourism, while “Building a Renewable Tourism Model” will address the balance between natural conservation and economic value creation. Additionally, “The Green Plan” will discuss the integration of AI, renewable energy, and green hydrogen as drivers of the next industrial revolution.
On the second day, discussions will focus on industrial resilience, smart infrastructure, and community empowerment through tourism and innovation.
