Omantel Group’s Strong Q3 2025 Performance: What It Means for Investors and Business Growth in Oman

MUSCAT: Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel) has released its unaudited financial results for the nine months ending September 30, 2025, demonstrating strong growth across its operations and solidifying its status as a leading telecom and technology provider in the region.

The Omantel Group posted a net profit of RO 243.4 million, representing a substantial 29.8% increase compared to RO 187.5 million in the same period of 2024. This achievement was underpinned by a robust EBITDA of RO 818 million, up 5.1% year-on-year, driven by significant contributions from both domestic and international sectors.

Group revenue climbed to RO 2,490.9 million, marking an 11.2% rise over the previous year. This growth highlights the Group’s successful efforts in portfolio diversification and expansion within high-growth market segments. Net profit attributable to the company’s shareholders reached RO 51.9 million, up 16.1% from RO 44.7 million in 2024.

On the domestic front, Omantel recorded revenues of RO 493.2 million, an 8.9% increase year-on-year. This increase was propelled by a RO 27.8 million rise in telecommunications revenues, including gains of RO 5.9 million in fixed services, RO 8 million in device sales, and RO 14.4 million in wholesale services. Additionally, revenues from smart solutions, hosting, and cloud services rose by RO 6.7 million and RO 4.9 million respectively, reflecting the effective implementation of Omantel’s TechCo strategy.

Domestic EBITDA grew to RO 127.8 million, supported by enhanced gross margins and a reduction in mobile service royalty rates from 12% to 10%. However, net profit attributable to shareholders slightly declined to RO 49.7 million, mainly due to higher depreciation expenses linked to strategic investments in network expansion and digital infrastructure.

Zain Group also contributed notably to the overall results, reporting revenues of RO 2,075.8 million and a consolidated net income attributable to shareholders of RO 222.9 million.

Omantel’s strong financial results, highlighted by a nearly 30% net profit increase and diversified revenue streams, signal robust growth and resilience in Oman’s telecom sector, presenting significant opportunities for businesses to leverage enhanced digital infrastructure and smart solutions. However, increased depreciation costs from strategic network investments indicate a need for careful capital allocation to sustain long-term growth. Smart investors should focus on tech-driven telecom expansions and digital transformation initiatives to capitalize on this upward momentum.
