Final Grace Period for Residents to Rectify Status: Implications for Business Compliance in Oman
Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has called on all residents and employers to take advantage of the final extended grace period, which is available until December 31, 2025, to rectify their legal status and settle any unpaid fines or financial obligations.
In a recent statement, the ROP indicated that residents can renew their residence permits or transfer their employment within the Sultanate of Oman without incurring penalties associated with the expiration of entry or residence permits, provided they verify with the Ministry of Labour.
Additionally, the ROP confirmed that expatriates planning to leave Oman permanently will not face fines related to the termination of non-work-related visas.
The authority emphasized that this marks the last opportunity for individuals to regularize their status in accordance with existing laws and regulations.
