Muscat: The organising committee of the Bidiya Carnival 2025 has announced the full schedule for this year’s winter tourism season in the Wilayat of Bidiya, with events set to take place from November 19 to 29.
Faishal bin Humaid al Hajri, Chairman of Bidiya Club for Car Racing, stated that the carnival is being organised by the club in collaboration with the Oman Automobile Association, under the supervision of the Office of the Governor of North al Sharqiyah. Several public and private sector organisations, along with civil society groups, are also contributing to the event’s organisation.
The 2025 edition will feature more than 14 diverse events, including motor sport championships and challenge competitions, traditional games, horse and camel shows, a consumer exhibition, musical and poetry evenings, and a community sports march.
The programme will host dedicated pavilions for the General Directorate of Agricultural Wealth and Water Resources in North Al Sharqiyah, the Environment Authority, and the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism. Additionally, a village for small and medium enterprises will be launched, alongside a consumer exhibition offering companies and entrepreneurs a platform to showcase their products to visitors and tourists from within and beyond Oman.
Al Hajri highlighted that this year’s programme also includes arts and poetry evenings featuring performers from Oman and Saudi Arabia, as well as the Bidiya Sky event, which will present paragliding, kite flying, remote-controlled aviation, and a 5-kilometre march. An exhibition focused on tourism, innovation, and camping is also scheduled.
The carnival’s main highlight is the motor sport championship, especially the “Burnout and Backfire” challenge, which is anticipated to attract significant participation from enthusiasts, driven by increased prize awards across various categories.
