Omani Firm’s Innovative Rubber Solutions from Waste Tyres: Boosting Sustainability and Business Opportunities in Oman

MUSCAT, NOVEMBER 18 — An Omani company specializing in eco-friendly rubber solutions has launched a range of high-quality products made from recycled used tyres, supporting waste reduction and promoting a cleaner, more sustainable environment.

RubbelX, which operates its recycling and processing facility in Samail Industrial City, recently took part in Project Oman 2025, the 4th International Construction Technology, Infrastructure, and Building Materials Exhibition and Conference held from November 3 to 5 at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The company underscored its dedication to sustainable innovation by reinventing, supplying, and installing environmentally friendly rubber products designed to improve safety, durability, and aesthetics.

RubbelX runs a state-of-the-art plant with a monthly processing capacity of 4,000 tonnes of recycled rubber. Its raw materials, including used tyres and other rubber items, are sourced from landfills managed by be’ah as well as from private collectors, supported by a formal agreement with be’ah to supply tyres from designated disposal sites. The facility makes use of a fully automated mechanical processing line and possesses one of the first machines of its kind in the Middle East, giving RubbelX a technological advantage in the regional recycling sector.

With a total project investment of Omani Rial 2.4 million, RubbelX is continuously expanding its operations. At the exhibition, the company presented its locally manufactured rubber flooring products — the first of their kind in Oman — along with several innovative products targeted at international markets.

Shihab al Khanjari, founder of RubbelX, described the company’s journey as a national success story. He highlighted that the company currently exports to several countries, including Gulf states, Korea, Pakistan, and India, with plans to enter new markets. He emphasized RubbelX’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and innovation to meet international standards. Al Khanjari also confirmed plans to increase production capacity and diversify the product range, including future factory upgrades aimed at boosting output and developing new rubber-based solutions.
