SpaceX Launches 28 New Satellites: Implications for Telecommunications and Business Growth in Oman

On July 8, SpaceX, the American space exploration company, launched 28 new Starlink satellites into space.

The company announced in a statement that its Falcon 9 rocket took off from Launch Complex 40 at the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida, carrying the Group 10-28 broadband internet units and satellites into low Earth orbit. The satellites reached space approximately nine minutes after launch and were deployed into their orbits after 50 minutes.

The first stage of the Falcon 9 rocket, designated Batch 1077, successfully completed its 22nd mission to and from space, landing on an autonomous drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean.

It is important to note that the Starlink network, part of SpaceX, provides broadband internet service to areas around the world where other types of coverage are unavailable or disrupted. Recently, it began offering mobile phone connectivity, especially for regions affected by flash floods in Texas.

The Starlink network currently operates over 7,000 active satellites that work together to deliver high-speed internet coverage to most parts of the world, except the polar regions, using ground terminals pointed skyward.
