Mega E-Auction of Used Oilfield Materials: What Omani Firm’s Plan Means for Investors and Business Owners in Oman

BUSINESS REPORTER
MUSCAT, NOVEMBER 30

One of the largest auctions of used oilfield materials ever conducted in Oman is scheduled to take place from December 7 to 18, 2025, announced Mzadcom, the Omani smart-auction platform operator. The auction will offer an extensive inventory of casing pipes, used pipes, and sucker rods, totaling 104,500 tonnes. All transactions will be conducted through a fully transparent process exclusively via Mzadcom’s electronic bidding system at www.mzadcom.om.

Mzadcom highlighted that this initiative demonstrates their commitment to advancing innovative digital solutions and optimising industrial material management by providing a transparent, reliable, and efficient digital auction ecosystem that adheres to global best practices.

The auction also aims to promote sustainability and reinforce the principles of the circular economy, aligning with the goals of Oman Vision 2040, the Omani start-up added.

Since its launch in 2022, Mzadcom has established itself as Oman’s leading online auction platform, facilitating timed auctions for a diverse range of items including scrap materials, used equipment, vehicles, surplus assets, and specialised lots such as rare mobile-phone numbers and corporate asset disposals.

Through this auction of used oilfield materials, Mzadcom aims to extend the lifecycle of industrial assets by promoting reuse and repurposing to maximise value. Additionally, the company seeks to open new international markets for these materials, enhancing Oman’s industrial competitiveness and supporting the country’s economic diversification efforts.

“This milestone auction highlights the capability of national digital platforms to compete on a global scale and underscores the growing role of the private sector in fostering sustainable economic practices, improving asset utilisation, and advancing innovative, technology-driven solutions across Oman,” the company stated.

Interested and eligible participants are invited to register and take part in the electronic auction during the specified period.
