OPA’s Regulatory Approval for Al Wadi Al Kabir Industrial City: Key Insights for Investors and Entrepreneurs in Oman

Muscat: The Board of Directors of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) convened for its fourth meeting of 2025, led by Chairman Shaikh Dr. Ali bin Masoud al Sunaidy.

During this meeting, the Board approved the Regulatory Regulation for Al Wadi Al Kabir Industrial City, managed by the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn). This initiative aims to enhance the service infrastructure and improve offerings for investors and industrial projects.

Additionally, the Board agreed to amend the Regulatory Regulation for Salalah Free Zone, making it more flexible and attractive to investors, thereby fostering economic growth in the region.

The Board also endorsed the Draft Executive Regulation for the Law of Special Economic Zones and Free Zones, along with its implementing decisions. This update is intended to align the regulatory and legal framework of the economic and free zones with current economic developments and investment needs.

Furthermore, the Board approved the project to restructure the subsidiaries of Oman Investment and Development Holding Company (Mubadrah) for the period of 2025-2027 and adopted the organizational structure for the Special Economic Zone at Duqm (SEZAD). — ONA
