First Locally Designed Thermal Oxidizer Unveiled: A Game-Changer for Omani Industrial Innovation and Investment Opportunities
SUHAR: The Sultanate of Oman has unveiled its first Thermal Oxidizer (TO) that has been entirely designed, engineered, manufactured, and tested within the country. This milestone represents a significant industrial achievement, underscoring Oman’s expanding capabilities in producing advanced technologies and heavy equipment for projects across the region.
The Thermal Oxidizer was produced for the Meliha Gas Processing Plant project, operated by Agiba Petroleum Company in Egypt, in collaboration with SLB, which served as the main contractor. Majees Industrial Services, under its brand ‘FLAROMAN,’ managed the complete design, manufacturing, and production processes.
This accomplishment showcases the expertise of Omani engineers and technicians and supports the localisation of cutting-edge technologies. It also contributes to creating quality employment opportunities and enhancing the competitiveness of Oman’s industrial sector.
This development further establishes Oman as a regional provider of high-tech industrial solutions within the GCC and beyond. Local manufacturing of such equipment helps reduce project costs, shorten execution timelines, and deliver solutions tailored to the specific operating conditions of the region.
The Thermal Oxidizer boasts several advanced features, including a burner management system, operation capability with either natural or forced draft, and a processing capacity exceeding 9,000 kg per hour with a broad turndown range. It is equipped with a robust burner facilitating airflow of nearly 55,000 cubic meters.
Standing over 22 meters tall, the device is engineered to ensure an operational lifespan of up to 20 years.
