Joint Korea-Oman Seminar on Sustainable Water Resources: Key Business Opportunities for Investors and Entrepreneurs in Oman
MUSCAT – The Korea-Oman Joint Seminar on Sustainable Water Resources Management took place on Monday, December 9, bringing together government officials, water authorities, and industry experts from both countries. The event aimed to share policy perspectives, exchange technical knowledge, and explore opportunities for enhanced collaboration in the water sector.
The seminar was co-hosted by the Embassy of Korea in Muscat, the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment of Korea, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources of Oman. The Korea Water Partnership (KWP) and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) Muscat Office organised the event, which saw active involvement from both public and private sector stakeholders.
The programme featured in-depth discussions on policy alongside presentations highlighting technological advancements, with a focus on strengthening bilateral cooperation in sustainable water management. Key topics included reducing non-revenue water (NRW), innovations in desalination and wastewater treatment, and the development of smart water networks and infrastructure.
Following the seminar, business-to-business (B2B) meetings were conducted to explore potential future collaborations, joint ventures, and technology partnerships within the water industry.
The event underscored the mutual commitment of Korea and Oman to achieving long-term water sustainability amid growing climate and resource challenges. Both parties expressed strong interest in pursuing follow-up feasibility studies, ongoing technical exchanges, and establishing a long-term framework for cooperation.
