Jabal Akhdar Attracts 222,000 Visitors in 2025: What This Means for Tourism and Investment Opportunities in Oman
The Wilayat of Al Jabal al Akhdar in the Al Dakhiliyah Governorate recorded a total of 222,151 visitors from January to December 2025, marking a 9.1 percent increase compared to 203,629 visitors during the same period in 2024.
According to data released by the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI), Omani nationals comprised the largest group of visitors, numbering 82,142. The next highest visitor groups were Saudis with 14,957, Emiratis with 1,588, Kuwaitis with 1,441, Qataris with 779, and Bahrainis with 699 visitors.
Visitors from other Arab nationalities totaled 9,902, while foreign nationals represented the largest share overall, with 110,643 travelers.
The rise in tourism is supported by the availability of numerous hotel facilities, rest houses, and tourist lodges, along with the organization of various events that attract tourists.
Al Jabal al Akhdar is renowned as a prime destination for ecotourism and adventure tourism. Visitors can engage in activities such as hiking through valleys, exploring caves, and mountain climbing.
