Muscat – Thawani Technologies LLC (Thawani Pay), an Omani fintech and the first non-bank payment service provider licensed by the Central Bank of Oman, has entered into a strategic partnership with Network International to enhance digital payment innovation and expand credit card services within the Sultanate. The announcement was made on Tuesday.
This collaboration builds on Thawani Pay’s recent achievements, including becoming the first fintech in Oman to receive an official Visa license to issue credit cards—a national milestone that underscores the company’s leading role in advancing next-generation payment solutions in the country.
Aligning with Oman Vision 2040’s goals to accelerate digitalisation and economic diversification, the partnership agreement was formalized during a ceremony at Thawani Pay’s headquarters in Muscat. The signing was conducted by Eng. Majid Al Amri, Founder and CEO of Thawani Pay, alongside Navneet Dave, Managing Director and Co-Head of Processing – Middle East at Network International.
Under this partnership, Network International will provide comprehensive credit card processing services to Thawani Pay. This support will enable Thawani Pay to advance its credit card roadmap with a scalable, secure, and enterprise-grade processing infrastructure, while reinforcing Network International’s processing footprint in Oman.
By integrating Network International’s regional processing expertise and infrastructure with Thawani Pay’s local market leadership and customer-centric innovation, the collaboration aims to deliver new payment solutions, bolster financial inclusion, and support Oman’s long-term digital transformation.

Oman’s digital payments sector continues to grow robustly, driven by regulatory support and increasing adoption of cashless transactions. In 2024, card and point-of-sale transaction volumes reached 432.9 million, with a total value of RO 6.88 billion, highlighting significant nationwide growth in digital payment activity.
