Heavy Rain and Winds in Dema’a and Al-Taiyyin: Implications for Agriculture and Infrastructure in Oman
Heavy Rainfall in Dhamat and Al-Taiyyin on July 12
Muscat: This evening, rain fell across the Wilayat of Dhamat and Al-Taiyyin, as well as in Al-Mudhaibi, located in the North Sharqiyah Governorate. The rainfall varied from heavy to moderate, accompanied by strong winds in several villages within these areas, resulting in flowing valleys and watercourses.
In the Wilayat of Dhamat and Al-Taiyyin, several villages along the Eastern Hajar Mountain Range, including “Mas,” “Al-Sabil,” “Naqsi,” and parts of “Mahalakh,” as well as the villages of Dhamat and neighboring areas, experienced rainfall. This caused the Naqsi, Ham, and Rayhani valleys, among others, to fill with water.
In Al-Mudhaibi, the villages of “Al-Rawda,” “Al-Wariya,” “Al-Misfah,” “B’ad,” and several in the Samad Al-Shan area, along with parts of the southern villages of the Wilayat, received similar rainfall. The scattered rain prompted some valleys, including B’ad, Al-Wariya, Al-Jardah, Al-Rak, and Al-Rawda, to flow as well.
This weather event highlights the ongoing climatic changes in the region.
