Oman Tourism and Qatar Alliance Unveiled at WTM: Key Implications for Investors and Business Growth
MUSCAT, NOV 7 — A new strategic partnership designed to bolster regional tourism cooperation has been announced between Visit Qatar and Experience Oman, the promotional arm of the Oman Ministry of Heritage and Tourism. This collaboration aims to promote multi-destination travel between Qatar and Oman and was unveiled during the World Travel Market (WTM) London 2025, one of the premier global travel exhibitions.
The announcement was made in the presence of Eng. Abdulaziz Ali al Mawlawi, CEO of Visit Qatar, and Omar al Jaber, Chief of the Tourism Development Sector at Qatar Tourism. Attending on behalf of Experience Oman were Azzan bin Qasim al Busaidy, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Tourism, and Shabib al Maamari, CEO of Visit Oman.
As part of this alliance, the two organizations will develop integrated travel packages and cross-promotional initiatives that encourage visitors, particularly from major markets in Asia and Europe, to experience both destinations in a single trip. Italy, Spain, and China will serve as initial target markets for these offerings.
The agreement also outlines plans for coordinated roadshows, joint participation in significant global travel events, and close collaboration with leading tour operators to design and market twin-center packages. These packages will highlight the cultural, heritage, and affordable luxury experiences available in both countries.
This partnership reflects the mutual commitment of Qatar and Oman to strengthen regional tourism ties, enhance visitor growth, and promote the Gulf as a unified, world-class travel destination. Through collaborative marketing efforts and improved connectivity, both nations aim to attract global travelers seeking authentic and immersive experiences.

The new partnership between Oman and Qatar in promoting multi-destination travel presents substantial opportunities for businesses in Oman to tap into international tourist markets, especially in Asia and Europe. This collaboration not only enhances the visibility of Oman’s rich cultural heritage but also poses a risk for local businesses to adapt swiftly to increased competition from coordinated tourism initiatives. Smart investors and entrepreneurs should consider leveraging this alliance by developing unique travel offerings that emphasize Oman’s distinct advantages to attract and retain visitors.
