MUSCAT, JANUARY 19 – Global Money Exchange Co LLC (GMEC), a leading money exchange firm in Oman, announced the launch of its new mobile application, Global Pay, during a media briefing on Monday. Global Pay offers a comprehensive range of digital financial services aimed at simplifying everyday transactions. Key features include seamless digital onboarding, instant wallet top-ups, and money transfer capabilities within Oman. Additionally, users can facilitate cross-border remittances, making international fund transfers more accessible. The app also supports functionalities for requesting money, cash deposits and withdrawals, as well as bill and education fee payments, placing it as a versatile payment solution for evolving community financial needs.
During the briefing, Shaikh Sulaiman bin Abdulmalik al Khalili emphasized that the Global Pay app enables secure and efficient payment transactions, both local and international. He noted that the platform is PCI-DSS certified, highlighting GMEC’s dedication to the highest standards of payment security and data protection, and expressed confidence that the app would be embraced by Omani citizens and expatriates alike.
Rajesh Chandiramani reiterated the platform’s robust security standards, revealing that transactions worth nearly $1 billion occur daily through Global Pay. He underscored the necessity of implementing strong security frameworks to handle such significant transaction volumes, ensuring the safety, reliability, and integrity of financial operations.
Subromoniyan K S, Managing Director of GMEC, stated, “Customers can conveniently pay utility bills and educational fees without needing a bank account, thereby promoting broader financial inclusion.” He further highlighted that the platform enables merchants to accept QR-based payments from customers across various banks or service providers in Oman, ensuring interoperability throughout the payment ecosystem.
