Oman-Spain Shipping Pacts Signed: What Asyad’s New Partnerships Mean for Your Business Growth
MUSCAT, NOVEMBER 6 — Asyad Shipping Company SAOG has welcomed the recent signing of four strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Spain. These agreements, aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation, focus on vital sectors including liquefied natural gas (LNG) and green methanol.
Signed during the state visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to Spain, the MoUs represent a major step forward in Oman’s strategy to expand its global presence in energy and sustainability, according to a statement filed with the Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX) on Thursday.
Among the agreements, the MoU between Oman LNG and the Spanish energy company Naturgy holds particular importance for Asyad Shipping. It establishes a preliminary framework for a long-term LNG sale and purchase arrangement, offering significant growth opportunities in the gas shipping sector. This collaboration is expected to benefit both nations by enhancing Oman’s maritime capabilities and meeting the increasing demand for LNG in European markets.
Asyad Shipping, a majority state-owned entity within the Asyad Group, emphasized its readiness to capitalize on these developments. The company aims to expand its gas shipping fleet in line with emerging trade flows, thereby strengthening maritime connectivity between Oman and Europe.
