MUSCAT: The Ministry of Economy, through the National Programme for Economic Diversification (Tanweea), conducted a workshop on Wednesday titled “Enhancing and Sustaining Integrated Economic Clusters” to explore opportunities for strengthening economic integration and maximizing local added value.

The workshop also focused on collaborative initiatives aimed at ensuring the long-term sustainability of economic clusters, aligned with national strategic goals.

Engineer Al Moatasim al Yaaqubi, Executive Director of Tanweea, explained that the event sought to enhance coordination and integration among partner entities. It emphasized their vital roles in implementing economic clusters while establishing a unified framework to achieve strategic objectives and improve overall operational efficiency.

Discussions highlighted several key recommendations, including the development of a unified integration framework, the creation of a joint follow-up mechanism, the adoption of a clear delineation of roles and responsibilities, and the design of practical initiatives to boost cluster readiness and attract investment.

Organized by the Ministry of Economy, with participation from relevant government and private-sector stakeholders, the workshop supports national efforts to promote sustainable economic development by strengthening integrated economic clusters. These clusters aim to generate increased added value for the national economy and enhance the effectiveness of diversification initiatives.
