Invest Oman Unveils Manufacturing Opportunities: What This Means for Investors and Entrepreneurs
MUSCAT: Invest Oman has announced a new portfolio of high-value investment opportunities within the manufacturing sector, showcasing a wide range of industrial projects that vary in scale, capital requirements, and geographic location. This initiative supports the Sultanate of Oman’s strategic goal to accelerate industrialisation and enhance the manufacturing sector’s contribution to economic growth.
The portfolio covers key industrial segments such as metals, advanced building materials, electrical and electronic industries, textile manufacturing, industrial inputs, and consumer goods production. This variety highlights the robustness of Oman’s industrial ecosystem and its capacity to support investments from specialised mid-scale operations to large capital-intensive ventures.
Notable projects are situated in Madayn Samayil and Madayn Suhar and include manufacturing facilities for military textiles and uniforms, air conditioning and refrigeration units, computer hardware and accessories, office supplies, and tire production. Additional projects encompass aluminium processing, production of semi-rigid aluminium containers, aluminium composite panels (ACP), steel manufacturing, stainless steel pipe fabrication, as well as bitumen plants, insulation materials, glass wool, and extruded polystyrene sheet production.
Investment values span from approximately $2.4 million for medium-scale projects to over $90 million for major industrial developments, offering flexibility for investors across various segments and bolstering opportunities for strategic partnerships and long-term investments.
The portfolio also features sustainability-focused ventures aligned with circular economy goals, such as a polyester fiber production facility using recycled PET plastic bottles. These projects support Oman’s environmental priorities while positioning the country within emerging green manufacturing value chains.
Oman’s structural advantages underpin these opportunities, including competitive access to raw materials, integrated industrial city infrastructure, and a regulatory framework that facilitates manufacturing growth. Simplified establishment processes and efficient supply chain connectivity further ensure operational certainty for investors.
Khalid bin Hamad al Kharousi, Director General of Investment Promotion at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP), explained that the ministry collaborates with various entities to develop and structure investment opportunities. This coordination ensures technical and economic feasibility, implementability, and targeted promotion, transforming opportunities into tangible projects with sustainable economic benefit.
He highlighted that in 2025, the ministry successfully developed and published 30 well-structured investment opportunities through the Invest Oman platform. These projects focus on national priorities with clear business models and integrated value propositions, developed in partnership with sectoral bodies to align with market demands and development objectives.
Al Kharousi emphasized a commitment to balanced sectoral diversification and broad geographic representation across all Omani governorates, leveraging regional competitive advantages to attract high-quality, long-term investments. The Invest Oman platform provides investors with detailed information on these projects—including technical data, investment values, and operational models—facilitating readiness and accelerating investment decisions.
