NCSI Prepares for Government Services Survey: What It Means for Oman’s Business Environment and Investors
MUSCAT: The National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) convened a preparatory meeting on Thursday for representatives of government entities involved in the upcoming public opinion survey evaluating government services. This session aims to ready participants ahead of launching a new survey cycle.
Approximately 80 attendees from 54 government organizations, along with NCSI specialists, joined the meeting. Sawsan bint Dawood al Lawati, Director General of Information at NCSI, emphasized that the meeting underscores the Centre’s dedication to enhancing cooperation with government bodies and preparing them for active engagement in the survey. This collaboration is crucial for improving data quality and ensuring accurate results.
Al Lawati highlighted ongoing efforts by NCSI to refine survey tools, standardize implementation processes, and strengthen communication channels with participating entities. These measures are designed to clarify roles and facilitate smooth data exchange within established timelines.
The meeting reviewed lessons learned from previous survey cycles, clarified survey requirements, and discussed the methodology, organizational framework, and designated contact points for each entity. These preparations aim to address past challenges and boost the efficiency and effectiveness of survey execution.
This regular statistical survey gauges beneficiary satisfaction and monitors users’ experiences with government services, whether accessed in person or through electronic and digital channels. It considers the diverse needs of different societal segments.
Survey indicators include ease of service access, quality of procedures, clarity of information, transaction speed, overall service efficiency, and the effectiveness of communication channels. Additionally, the survey evaluates the extent of digital transformation in service delivery, providing data to support decision-makers in enhancing government services and responsiveness.
This meeting is part of a series of preparatory sessions conducted by NCSI to improve survey implementation and promote better government performance and public service delivery. — ONA
