OCCI to Launch Oman Trade Office in US: What It Means for Oman’s Business Expansion and Investment Opportunities

MUSCAT, AUG 30 — The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) is set to host a series of business forums aimed at bolstering economic ties and diversifying Oman’s economy in line with Oman Vision 2040. These events include the Omani-Thai Business Forum, the Oman–Pakistan Business Forum, the Omani–Estonian Business Forum, and an introductory meeting for the Oman Trade Office in the United States.

Shaikh Faisal bin Abdullah al Rawas, Chairman of OCCI, emphasized that these forums underscore the chamber’s commitment to supporting Oman’s economic diversification strategy. He noted that the events provide crucial platforms for national companies to explore investment opportunities, share expertise, and forge sustainable trade partnerships, thereby enhancing the Omani private sector’s presence both regionally and globally.

The forums aim to open new channels of cooperation with various countries, allowing Omani businesses to showcase their products, expand exports, and attract foreign investment. These initiatives also reinforce Oman’s position as an attractive investment hub across multiple sectors.

Each forum will facilitate bilateral meetings between businessmen and investors, fostering experience exchange, strategic partnerships, and the signing of new contracts.

The series begins with the Omani–Thai Business Forum on Sunday, August 31. This event focuses on strengthening trade and investment relations between Oman and Thailand, particularly in the perfumes and cosmetics, healthcare, and food security sectors. It will introduce Omani companies to the Thai market and encourage joint ventures between entrepreneurs from both countries.

Next, on Tuesday, September 2, the Oman–Pakistan Business Forum will convene. This forum aims to enhance commercial and investment cooperation by exploring opportunities in food security, ICT, education, textiles, healthcare, construction, tourism, automobile trade, and sporting goods. It will support economic diversification efforts in both nations through partnerships and joint projects.

On Wednesday, September 3, the OCCI will host a meeting to introduce the Oman Trade Office in the United States. This session will highlight the office’s role in facilitating Omani companies’ entry into the US market by providing advice on US laws and standards, identifying trade opportunities, and organizing business meetings and economic delegations. The office plays a key role in strengthening Oman-US economic relations.

Finally, on Monday, September 8, the Omani–Estonian Business Forum will focus on enhancing trade and investment cooperation with Estonia. The forum will explore opportunities in green and renewable energy, ICT, logistics, industry, real estate, sustainability, smart manufacturing, agri-tech, ed-tech, cybersecurity, and healthcare.

These initiatives reflect OCCI’s strategic mission to expand Oman’s economic diversification and global business footprint.
