Muscat – Oman Air Cargo has expanded its network with the introduction of a new route connecting Muscat, Oman, to Kigali, Rwanda, enhancing trade links between East Africa, the Middle East, and Europe.

Starting in June 2026, and pending regulatory approvals, the service will operate via scheduled B-737 passenger flights. This addition aims to provide dependable capacity for perishables and time-sensitive cargo between the regions.

Michael Duggan, Head of Cargo at Oman Air, highlighted the growing demand for cargo transport between the Middle East and Africa, especially for perishables and specialized goods. He emphasized that the new route addresses this demand by offering increased capacity and extended reach.

The Muscat-Kigali service will facilitate the transport of fresh produce such as fruit, vegetables, and flowers, in addition to pharmaceuticals, general cargo, and express shipments originating from East Africa.
