High-Level Oman-Brazil Trade Forum: What It Means for Business Growth and Investment Opportunities in Oman
MUSCAT, JANUARY 4 — A high-level delegation, including senior officials from the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP), is set to participate in the inaugural Oman-Brazil Trade Forum scheduled for May 2026 in Brazil.
Last week, the official presentation event for the Omani Business Delegation took place at the Brazilian Embassy, welcoming numerous Omani entrepreneurs and trade partners who expressed their business interests and registered for the forum.
This forum targets Omani business leaders and entrepreneurs seeking direct, face-to-face engagement with Brazilian suppliers across various industries. Attendees will have opportunities to visit factories and farms, explore tangible import prospects, and interact with Brazilian government officials.
The event is organized with the support of the respected Brazilian law firm Marcelo Lucas Advocacia, alongside institutional backing from both the Embassy of Brazil in Oman and the Embassy of Oman in Brazil. The presentation and registration session included a coffee break for participants.
Marcelo Lucas, head of the official Omani delegation, highlighted the unique opportunities this first-of-its-kind forum presents. Omani investors and businessmen will meet directly with Brazilian sellers from multiple sectors, gain firsthand experience through site visits, and explore concrete import deals and official meetings.
Since establishing diplomatic ties in 1974, Oman and Brazil have cultivated growing bilateral relations focused on enhancing trade and investment, particularly in renewable energy, agriculture, mining, and political dialogue aimed at global peace and stability. High-level visits have strengthened economic cooperation, with Oman acting as Brazil’s gateway to Asian and African markets. The bilateral trade relationship has expanded notably in agriculture, food products, mining, and renewable energy sectors.
Cooperation between the two countries also extends to tourism, with recent ministerial visits aimed at further development in this area, highlighting the shared cultural heritage and mutual experiences of Oman and Brazil.
