Innovative Dome Project Targets Oman as Central Hub for Gaming and Creative Industry Growth: What It Means for Investors and Entrepreneurs

MUSCAT: A groundbreaking architectural initiative that merges geodesic dome structures with digital innovation is set to debut in Oman, led by the Iranian engineering team behind the Hemiball project. This marks a significant milestone in their regional expansion plans, introducing futuristic designs to Muscat and beyond.

After five years of developing and engineering advanced geodesic domes, Hemiball’s founders have identified Oman as an ideal location to launch their gaming and content creation hub. The move reflects the company’s strategy to integrate these efficient architectural forms into creative industries.

In an exclusive interview with Oman Observer, Mohammad Amin Anvari, Co-founder and Chairman of Hemiball, stated, “After nearly five years of developing, engineering, and producing geodesic domes, we chose to expand into sectors where these structures act not only as functional architectural solutions but also as iconic, forward-thinking landmarks.”

The decision to focus on Oman came after comprehensive feasibility studies and collaboration with leading Iranian architects and engineers. Hemiball views Oman as a stable, accessible, and innovation-friendly environment, distinguishing it from others in the region.

During the first phase, the Hemiball team will visit Muscat from November 2 to 6 to participate in the Project Oman Exhibition, a major platform for infrastructure and development projects in the Sultanate. They will also assess existing desert camps using dome structures and engage with investment firms interested in pioneering architectural ventures.

Amir Anvari, CEO of Hemiball, explained, “Our visit aims to understand the local market, meet potential investors, and observe the current use of geodesic domes in Oman’s tourism sector. We envision integrating these architectural forms into the rapidly growing global gaming industry.”

Hemiball’s founders highlight the synergy between Oman’s architectural heritage and contemporary aspirations, making dome designs a natural fit. The country’s luxury desert camps already incorporate such structures, blending utility with cultural resonance.

“Oman demonstrates a strong connection with geodesic structures,” said Abtin Shamsi, Business Manager. “These domes evoke the traditional mosque architecture yet are reimagined in a modern and dynamic way.”

The planned gaming and content hub will serve as both a digital entertainment venue and cultural landmark, fusing technology with design inspired by the region’s architectural identity.

Hemiball’s domes are distinguished by their energy efficiency, resilience, and adaptability. Engineered to withstand extreme climate conditions, they consume minimal energy, with integrated solar energy systems tailored for Oman’s abundant solar potential.

“Our structures are designed for durability in harsh environments,” Mohammad Amin noted. “Integrating solar energy directly into the domes makes them ideal for Oman.”

Their modular design allows customization based on client needs, including options for protective coatings, materials, and aesthetics. This flexibility presents opportunities across tourism, entertainment, and sustainable infrastructure sectors.

Looking ahead, Hemiball aims to support Oman’s sustainability goals through eco-friendly, near-zero carbon architectural developments. Mohammad Amin shared, “We plan to expand towards green village projects that utilize modular, self-sustaining architecture, aligning with Oman’s commitment to renewable energy and sustainable living.”

The Hemiball leadership—Mohammad Amin Anvari, Amir Anvari, and Abtin Shamsi—expressed keen interest in forming partnerships with Omani investors, developers, and innovation entities, emphasizing collaboration as crucial to tailoring their designs to local contexts.

“With our team of top Iranian engineers and extensive production expertise, we look forward to expanding in line with Oman’s needs and opportunities,” concluded Mohammad Amin.

This initiative heralds a new era of innovative, sustainable architecture in Oman, blending cutting-edge technology with cultural heritage.
