Oman Towers Strengthens Market Position: What the Strategic Partnership with Brookfield Means for Investors and Business Growth in Oman

MUSCAT – Oman Tower Company (Oman Towers), a leading provider of wireless passive telecom infrastructure in the Sultanate, recently held a ceremony to mark its newly formed strategic partnership with Brookfield, one of the world’s largest alternative asset managers, managing over US$1 trillion in assets. This significant development follows Brookfield’s acquisition of a majority stake in Oman Towers, announced in June, highlighting the strong international investor interest in Oman’s telecom tower sector.

Majid Amer Al Kharoosi, CEO of Oman Towers, praised the partnership, stating, “Today, we proudly celebrate the closing of the strategic partnership between Oman Towers and Brookfield. This collaboration goes beyond a commercial investment; it represents a step toward new horizons, boosting the company’s financial and operational strength, governance, and business sustainability, aligned with national ambitions and future prospects.”

Founded in 2018, Oman Towers manages approximately 2,450 tower sites in cooperation with mobile operators throughout Oman. Following Brookfield’s majority acquisition, Burooj Telecommunications Networks and Al Souroh Investment continue as strategic investors in the company.

For Brookfield, this acquisition enhances its rapidly expanding telecom tower portfolio in the Middle East, complementing its global holdings of around 315,000 sites, making it the world’s second-largest tower operator. Its assets span India, Europe, and the Middle East, including the landmark purchase of ATC India through the Data Infrastructure Trust (DIT). This deal brought about 257,000 sites under Brookfield’s control in India, positioning it as the largest tower company in the country and a global leader outside China.
