Oman–Türkiye Dialogue Boosts Investment Ties: What It Means for Business Growth and Opportunities in Oman
ISTANBUL – Represented by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, Invest in Oman recently hosted the Oman–Türkiye Advantage Business Dialogue in Istanbul. This event aims to deepen investment cooperation and enhance Oman’s presence in global markets, aligning with the goals of Oman Vision 2040, which emphasizes economic diversification, innovation, and international partnerships.
During the dialogue, the Omani delegation presented a detailed overview of the country’s investment landscape, spotlighting advanced industrial and logistics hubs such as Al Duqm and Suhar. They highlighted free zones and competitive legislative and financial incentives designed to attract foreign direct investment. Key sectors spotlighted included green hydrogen, manufacturing, mining, and digital technologies.
The programme featured bilateral meetings and structured networking opportunities, allowing Omani and Turkish companies to explore potential partnerships. Participants also visited Turkish institutions specializing in advanced industrial and technological fields, facilitating exchanges of best practices and discussions on transferring expertise and modern industrial technologies to Oman.
Turkish participants praised Oman’s stable legal framework, attractive investment incentives, and integrated logistics infrastructure that connects Asia, Europe, and Africa through its ports, airports, and free zones.
Ibtisam bint Ahmed al Faroojiyah, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion for Investment Promotion, emphasized that hosting the dialogue in Türkiye underscores Oman’s dedication to expanding its international economic influence and fostering high-quality partnerships with major industrial and commercial markets. She noted that the longstanding Omani–Turkish relationship is evolving into a more dynamic phase focused on knowledge exchange and joint investments in future-oriented sectors such as renewable energy, advanced industry, and transcontinental logistics.
Al Faroojiyah also highlighted the dialogue’s role as a practical platform to strengthen public-private sector collaboration and identify joint projects centered on innovation, technology transfer, and long-term strategic partnerships aimed at sustainable growth in both countries.
Khaled bin Hamad al Kharousi, Director General of Investment Promotion, described Türkiye as a pivotal regional player with robust industrial capabilities, an active private sector, and extensive integration into global supply chains. He noted that cooperation now extends beyond traditional trade to include technology transfer, industrial development, and export-oriented projects targeting markets across Europe, Asia, and Africa.
Al Kharousi stressed the importance of ongoing follow-up to convert discussions into tangible projects, thereby reinforcing industrial and investment integration and expanding bilateral trade networks. The Invest in Oman initiative is dedicated to advancing these outcomes through specialised working groups, underscoring Oman’s role as a reliable international economic partner and an emerging hub for forward-looking investments.
