Advancing Vertiport Infrastructure in Oman: What This Pact Means for Investors and Entrepreneurs
MUSCAT, FEB 24 — In a significant development for Oman’s Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) ambitions, AeroVecto, an Omani aviation services company specializing in hybrid-electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, has formed a strategic partnership with LYNEports, an AI-driven digital planning platform. This collaboration aims to advance vertiport development across Oman and the wider Middle East.
Vertiports serve as specialized facilities for short-range air transport, including air taxis and cargo drones, facilitating urban and regional aerial mobility. These hubs function like mini airports, equipped with vertical landing pads, passenger amenities, electric aircraft charging stations, air traffic and operational control systems, comprehensive safety and security features, and seamless connections to ground transportation such as cars and buses.
This partnership expands on a previous memorandum of understanding focused on aircraft integration. It now represents a broader commercial alliance that merges digital infrastructure intelligence with aerospace expertise to support cities, developers, and regulatory authorities in preparing for advanced air mobility, according to AeroVecto.
“It strengthens Oman’s position in the regional aerial mobility landscape and provides local stakeholders with access to world-class planning tools combined with homegrown aviation capability,” stated Fahad al Riyami, CEO of AeroVecto.
The collaboration leverages the unique strengths of both partners. LYNEports offers its AI-native digital twin platform for vertiport planning, airport modernization, and drone corridor design. This platform translates complex aviation regulations into visual, decision-ready tools accessible to non-aviation professionals. Meanwhile, AeroVecto contributes extensive expertise in manufacturing, aerospace engineering, and operational capabilities rooted in Oman’s aviation ecosystem. Together, they aim to transform advanced air mobility concepts into practical, implementable projects for governments and private sector leaders.
AeroVecto is currently developing the ‘Shuttle,’ a hybrid-electric eVTOL aircraft designed to revolutionize public and urban transport throughout Oman and the GCC by providing scalable, sustainable aerial mobility. Its Aviation Services division focuses on operations, infrastructure planning, and strategic partnerships to build the eVTOL ecosystem in alignment with Oman’s sustainability and economic diversification goals.
LYNEports’ platform enables stakeholders to design, simulate, and evaluate vertiports and aviation facilities tailored for eVTOL and future aircraft. Its software integrates geospatial analysis, 3D modeling, regulatory compliance, and flight path simulation, streamlining early-stage planning and ensuring the safe and efficient incorporation of aerial mobility into existing transport networks. The platform supports planners, developers, architects, and regulators in optimizing site selection and infrastructure design for next-generation air transport systems.
Oman’s broader vision for advanced air mobility involves integrating drones, eVTOL aircraft, and supporting infrastructure through effective regulatory frameworks and strategic partnerships. This initiative aims to boost connectivity and tourism while promoting sustainable transport and economic diversification, in line with Oman Vision 2040.
