In an exclusive interview with Oman Observer, Al Balushi detailed how Molecules LLC—a fully Omani-owned factory—has grown from a startup into a diversified enterprise with operations spanning pharmaceuticals, FMCG, medical supplies, cosmetics, and other sectors. He emphasized that the company’s core mission is to establish a robust Omani brand with a regional presence.

“Our vision was clear from the outset: to unify multiple sectors under a single trusted brand,” he said. “Significant milestones, such as inaugurating our new factory and forging global partnerships, have been transformative. These steps aren’t just business decisions—they are declarations of Oman’s capabilities on the global stage.”

Scaling the company, however, presented considerable challenges. Al Balushi recounted the complexities of expanding while maintaining product quality and internal harmony. “As we ventured into new sectors and markets, the pressure to retain control was immense,” he noted. “The keys to overcoming these challenges were clear communication, assembling the right team, and implementing a solid, strategic foundation. These principles have enabled us to navigate complexity effectively.”

Reflecting on Molecules’ growth, Al Balushi identifies the company culture as his proudest accomplishment. “While watching the business expand is gratifying, what matters most is the culture we’ve cultivated,” he stated. “We’ve fostered an environment where everyone shares the vision and takes ownership of their roles. Sustained growth relies not just on systems or products, but on motivated people aligned with our mission.”

As a leader, Al Balushi views himself as a cultural architect. “Culture begins at the top. Looking forward, Al Balushi’s ambition is to position Molecules as a regional leader renowned for quality, innovation, and trust. “We plan to expand our manufacturing capacity, boost exports, and introduce more Omani-made products into international markets,” he said. “Equally important, we aim to serve as a platform for local talent. Oman’s potential is immense, and we want to harness that by creating jobs and developing skills.”

For aspiring CEOs and entrepreneurs, Al Balushi offers this counsel: stay grounded. “Prioritize learning, remain humble, and don’t shy away from risk,” he advised. “Operate with purpose, treat people with respect, and be consistent—because success is never immediate.”

Despite the pressures of managing a multi-sector company, Al Balushi deliberately maintains balance in his life. “Leadership can be demanding, but I’ve learned to set priorities and make time to recharge,” he shared. “I invest in personal growth through reading and reflection, and my faith and family are central to keeping me grounded.”

As Molecules pursues regional expansion, Al Balushi remains optimistic about the company’s and Oman’s future. “We aspire to be a benchmark of what Omani companies can achieve internationally,” he remarked. “We are building more than a business—we are creating a legacy that embodies Oman’s values and potential.”
