Vodafone Oman Hits 17% Market Share: What Accelerated Growth Means for Investors and Entrepreneurs
Vodafone Oman Marks Four Years with 17% Market Share and Robust Growth
Muscat, April 7 — Vodafone Oman has secured approximately 17 percent of the Sultanate’s telecom market as it celebrates four years of operations, driven by strong subscriber growth, rising revenues, and an expanding digital-first strategy.
The telecom operator reported a 46 percent increase in its subscriber base and a 66 percent growth in net revenues in 2025 compared to 2024, highlighting sustained momentum within a competitive and mature market.
Eng. Bader Al Zidi, Chief Executive Officer of Vodafone Oman, remarked on the milestone, noting the sector’s evolution from initial disruption concerns to a focus on delivery and consistency. “Four years ago, the question was whether the market would change. By 2025, that question had been answered. The focus shifted to how consistently operators deliver at scale — across network performance, service quality, and customer experience,” he stated.
Growth Driven by Scale and Consistency
As Oman’s telecom sector moves from expansion into operational maturity, Vodafone Oman’s success is anchored in reliability and superior service quality. Its 5G network now covers over 99 percent of populated areas, catering to increasing data demand and approximately 1.5 million users. This includes the seamless migration of over 450,000 subscribers from Friendi Mobile, completed without impacting network performance.
Central to Vodafone’s strategy is managing network capacity while enhancing customer experience during rapid scaling.
Digital-First Approach Gains Momentum
Vodafone Oman’s fully digital operating model remains a cornerstone of its strategy. In 2025, the My Vodafone app contributed over 64 percent of total revenue, with app-driven income rising 25 percent year-on-year. The app registered more than 1.2 billion customer interactions over the year and was awarded Best Digital Storefront in the Middle East in 2025.
Reflecting shifting user behaviors, Vodafone expanded its 5G broadband offerings via Makani, launched Raseed to improve usage transparency, and introduced a PKI-enabled eSIM aligned with national digital authentication standards.
Expansion in Retail and Enterprise Markets
The company significantly expanded its retail footprint, increasing the number of stores and eStores by over 75 percent to more than 75 locations, supported by over 5,500 nationwide sales points.
Notably, the enterprise segment saw remarkable growth, with service revenues increasing by 321 percent and the customer base growing 249 percent in 2025, as businesses increasingly adopted integrated digital solutions.
Commitment to Community and Future Outlook
Beyond commercial achievements, Vodafone Oman enhanced its social impact through initiatives such as the “Steps for Goodness” Ramadan campaign, participation in Khareef Dhofar events, and collaboration with Sultan Qaboos University to foster local talent.
As Vodafone Oman enters its fifth year, the company emphasized a focus on sustaining scalable performance and consistent service delivery to meet growing demand.
These results affirm Vodafone Oman’s status as a key player in the Sultanate’s telecom sector, with growth fueled by trust, digital engagement, and robust infrastructure rather than initial market entry.
