Elon Musk Announces Formation of New Political Party: Implications for Investors and Entrepreneurs in Oman
Washington, July 6 — American billionaire Elon Musk, founder of Tesla and SpaceX, has announced the creation of a new political party called the “America Party,” a move that has generated significant reaction in the American political scene.
Musk took to his social media platform, X, stating: “Today, the America Party has been founded to restore your freedom.” This announcement coincides with his increasing criticisms of the political establishment, particularly his strong opposition to the budget proposal put forth by President Joe Biden, which includes raising the national debt ceiling.
Two days ago, on Friday, alongside the American Independence Day, Musk launched a poll on X regarding the idea of forming a new political party. An impressive 65% of 1.2 million participants supported this initiative.
Commenting on the poll results, Musk remarked: “By a two-to-one ratio, you want a new political party, and you will get one.”
Furthermore, he stated, “When our country faces bankruptcy due to waste and corruption, we are living under a one-party system, not a true democracy,” referring to the dominance of the Republican and Democratic parties in U.S. politics.
Musk has been a close ally of former President Donald Trump, contributing to his campaign for the 2024 presidential election and previously chairing a governmental committee focused on efficiency and federal spending. However, tensions in their relationship grew in May, following public disagreements on various issues, including budget transparency.
It’s worth noting that Musk announced at the end of May that he had concluded his role as a special advisor in the Trump administration after serving 130 days in a capacity aimed at reducing federal spending and enhancing government effectiveness.

Elon Musk’s establishment of the “America Party” signals a growing dissatisfaction with traditional political structures, which could influence business landscapes globally, including in Oman. Opportunities arise for investors looking to back innovative and disruptive political or business models that challenge the status quo, but they must also be wary of potential political volatility that could impact market stability. Entrepreneurs in Oman should consider aligning with emerging shifts in governance models and capitalizing on the public’s increasing demand for transparency and accountability.
