Exploring Investment Opportunities: Key Insights from the Oman-Cebu Forum in the Philippines for Entrepreneurs and Investors
On July 12, the Oman-Cebu Investment Forum was held in the Philippines, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and relevant authorities in Cebu. The forum focused on the investment opportunities and areas for bilateral cooperation between the two friendly nations.
In his opening speech, His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, the Foreign Minister, emphasized the importance of transforming established friendship into mutual commercial and investment ties. He highlighted the need to create a favorable environment for investment and to raise awareness about available opportunities in sectors such as renewable energy, logistics, tourism, real estate development, food industries, healthcare, artificial intelligence, data centers, robotics, and information technology.
His Excellency stated, “The Sultanate of Oman is a preferred destination for many Filipino workers who have found a second home here, living in safety and respect, with around 50,000 Filipinos enjoying an environment of understanding and tolerance.” He added that this strong human foundation is a starting point for broadening cooperation beyond labor to include trade and investment, thereby opening wider avenues for business communities in both Oman and the Philippines.
The first edition of the Oman-Cebu Investment Forum aims to strengthen cultural, commercial, tourism, and investment ties between Oman and the Philippines. It also seeks to enhance economic partnerships by providing an appealing environment for the exchange of ideas and the strengthening of collaborations across various sectors of both nations.
Dr. Mahad bin Saeed Ba’awain, the Minister of Labor, was present at the forum, alongside various representatives from the public and private sectors of both countries.
