Exploring the Incentive Program and Promising Business Landscape in North Al Sharqiyah: Opportunities for Investors and Entrepreneurs

Ibra, July 8 – Today, a special introductory session was held in Ibra as part of a promotional campaign for the Incentive Program and Promising Companies Market. This initiative was organized by the Muscat Stock Exchange in collaboration with the National Program for Financial Sustainability and the Development of the Financial Sector (Istidama), in partnership with the branch of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in North Sharqiyah Governorate.

The session provided an overview of the objectives of the Incentive Program and the Promising Companies Market. It emphasized the key incentives available for private and family-owned companies, as well as the regulatory and technical requirements involved. Additionally, it outlined the components of the program aimed at supporting the transition of these companies into listed entities on the Muscat Stock Exchange.

The session showcased three main pathways of the program:

  1. Transition to Public Joint Stock Companies: Targeting private and family companies with market values exceeding 10 million Omani Riyals, encouraging them to enter the public market.

  2. Launch of the Promising Companies Market: A sub-market within the Muscat Stock Exchange designed specifically for small and medium-sized enterprises with market values over 500,000 Omani Riyals.

  3. Transition to Closed Joint Stock Companies: Aimed at limited liability companies with values over 500,000 Omani Riyals that employ more than 20 Omani workers, encouraging their conversion into closed joint stock companies.

It is noteworthy that the goal of this introductory session was to enhance investment awareness among entrepreneurs and investors regarding the Promising Companies Market. The session sought to foster integration among financial institutions and stimulate participation of small and medium enterprises in capital markets, while also encouraging companies to adopt modern management and financing models.

The recent promotional campaign for the innovative “Promising Companies Market” presents significant opportunities for businesses in Oman, particularly for family-owned and private enterprises seeking to scale. By facilitating their transition to public companies, this initiative could enhance access to capital and foster sustainable growth, yet it also poses regulatory risks as firms navigate new compliance demands.
