New Rule on Employee Termination in Oman: What Businesses Need to Know About Mandatory MoL Notification
Muscat: The Minister of Labour emphasized on Wednesday that no institution is authorized to terminate an employee’s services without first submitting a request to the Ministry of Labour for review. He stated that any company that dismisses employees without notifying the Ministry will face legal consequences. Additionally, the Ministry will address any complaints filed by terminated employees.
The minister made these remarks in response to a query from a Majlis A’ Shura member concerning recent layoffs at a prominent private sector company, which have been widely covered in the media.
